Walsall woman finally has the confidence to smile after suffering years of bullying

A woman from Walsall finally has the confidence to show off her smile after enduring years of bullying.

Paige Griffin, 26, was called names like ‘wheelie-bin teeth’ at school and suffered abuse as an adult due to her stained, crooked teeth. The mum-of-one, who is a sales consultant, said that she never smiled with her teeth on show prior to having cosmetic dental treatment.

Paige uploaded a post to TikTok and was shocked to receive an offer from a clinic in Turkey. Amidst the negative comments, some people suggested that she set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for treatment. She raised £400 and was on the verge of giving up when the team at Smile Dental contacted her after seeing her photograph on the social media platform.

Dentists at Smile Dental in Turkey offered to provide new crowns and veneers for Paige free of charge. The treatment would normally cost over £5,000. At the end of May, Paige and her partner, Rhys, flew to Turkey. Paige’s dentist said that the staining was caused by gum disease, which had not been treated effectively.

After undergoing treatment to fit new crowns and veneers, Paige was delighted with the results and now finally has the confidence to show off her teeth.

Talking about her experience, Paige said that she had been “blown away” by the gesture and was incredibly grateful to the team out in Turkey that gave her the beautiful smile she now has. She added that the procedure has changed her life and given her confidence a huge boost.
